Whether you’re a rookie boater or you have years of experience, you’ll get the chance to improve your boating skills at upcoming boating classes being offered by the Colorado Boat Center.
CBC’s annual “Women Making Waves” and “Men in the Know” classes are each designed to meet the specific needs of men and women boaters. This year’s classes will be held Tuesday, May 15 at Boyd Lake State Park, with morning classes available from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and afternoon classes from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
During the classes, boaters will learn such boating skills as launching and loading, on the water driving, knot tying, docking and trailering.
Recognizing that many women have a strong interest in learning about powerboating, Colorado Boat Center began offering its first women-only class in 2004. In the class, boating educators and women boaters share their knowledge and boating experiences, and the class allows those who have little or no opportunity to operate a boat on their own to learn basic skills.
After Colorado Boat Center began offering the “Women Making Waves” class, many men expressed an interest in attending a similar class where men could brush up on their boating skills. So they created the “Men in the Know” class.
For customers who have purchased a boat from Colorado Boat Center, the classes are free for up to two attendees. Additional attendees are $25 each. For those who have not purchased a boat from Colorado Boat Center, the classes are $50 each.
Registration is required for these classes and space is limited.
