What’s the difference between a pontoon and a boat?  When looking at one of the Barletta models, it’s hard to tell.

This Indiana-based company makes top-of-the-line pontoons designed for fun with family and friends with all the features one expects from a pontoon: expansive seating space, an extended aft deck for swimming or towing the kids, and a solid, dependable ride.

But once you get inside and start looking around, you’ll find all the extras Barletta designs into their pontoons, features that would be unusual even in a fancy center console powerboat.

Start underneath the deck.  Barletta uses heavy duty cross members on the 26-inch tubes with center tube lifting strakes and a full skin underbelly. The company’s proprietary VIP technology–Vibration Isolation Pads–provides a shake-rattle-and-roll free ride even in bumpy water.

From the dock, the aggressive bow taper and nice sleek lines makes these pontoons look like sports cars. Stainless steel accents, the standard Barletta power bimini and heavy-duty entry doors all add to the luxury feel of these boats.

The soft-touch upholstery throughout these pontoons is high-end and the contrasting color panels, stitching and vinyl-wrap bases contribute to the luxury feel. Both fore and aft, the seating is adjustable to meet the needs of your passengers and comes with stainless cup holders, flip-up armrests, USB charging stations, smartphone holders and ample storage space underneath every seat.

The aft ultra lounge configuration is very popular with many buyers, as it offers front and rear-facing configurations as well as folding down into a huge sunbed for catching the rays.

Like every Barletta pontoon, the helm station features extra legroom for the captain, stainless Barletta gauges, plenty of options for screens and electronics, and the Italian-made Hertz sound system which will totally rock your favorite sounds.  And, for man’s best friend, every Barletta pontoon includes a slide-out pet food and water station in the base of the helm.

The stainless tow bar, which doubles as protection from the outboard, will get a lot of use for dragging the kids around the lake. A Mercury 150 or 200 four-stroke will move this pontoon around any body of water with plenty of speed and power.
