Fifteen years ago, the Colorado Boating Center first offered a day of classes in basic boating skills in response to requests we had from many of our women customers. Some were new to boating, and others just wanted to brush up on techniques.
These classes proved to be so popular, that some of our male customers asked to be included. Isn’t that just like a man??!!??
We were actually happy to invite men to join the informative day of boating instruction. Educators and experienced boaters will impart some basic boating skills, such as launching and loading, docking and trailering, as well as on-the-water navigation rules, some basic knot tying and more.
You can enroll in one set of classes, called Women Making Waves. Or, if you’ve always hated stopping to ask for directions, you might prefer the classes called Men in the Know. It’s entirely up to you.
This year, our classes will be offered on Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at the Boyd Lake State Park. We have two sessions: the morning classes will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.; and the afternoon sessions from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Classes are free for up to 2 attendees from your family: additional family members can join for $25 each (if you purchased a boat from CBC, otherwise the fee is $50).
Whether you are a Woman who Makes Waves, or a Man in the Know, you are invited to join us. Registration is required and space is limited, so visit our event registration page and sign up today!
