We love pontoon boats! They’re great for family outings, great for towing the kids on boards and tubes, great for drifting over fishing holes … just great for all kinds of boating here in Colorado’s lakes, rivers and ponds.
So we were very excited to add the Barletta brand of luxury pontoon boats to our line here at the Colorado Boat Center at the end of last year. This relatively new company has come flying out of the chute with a line of boats fully loaded with all kinds of head-turning features. And the good news is that most of them are standard.
Barletta currently makes three lines: the L-Class (for luxury), the E-Class (for elite) and the C-Class (for classy, we think!). Each class has several lengths available, a few different seating configurations, and the usual choices of colors in upholstery and trim. But for the most part, options are limited because Barletta makes almost everything standard issue.
The underlying construction is better than most in the pontoon class. Barletta’s 26-inch welded pontoons are larger than most others, and they include strakes and splash rails that ensure both a dry ride and excellent turning and control. There are two stage-lifting strakes with invasive species wash as well. The company’s double I-beam side rails, Vibration Isolation Pad technology to prevent squeaks and rattles between the plywood underdeck and the support beams, and fully welded sheathing all contribute to the company’s extensive warranties: lifetime on the structure and 10 years bow to stern.
Topside, these pontoons feature luxurious Dolce marine upholstery that is soft to the touch and extremely durable. Barletta’s seating configurations include bow benches, dual captain’s chairs at the helm and a huge, queen-size sunning pad aft, which can be converted into front- or aft-facing lounges, either flat or with adjustable headrests.
The comfortable helm, with plenty of legroom, features well-labeled toggle switches, stereo controls and a flush mount fish finder. Overhead, the fully electric bimini extends and withdraws at the push of a button. There are cup holders throughout the boat, and all of them “Yeti-Ready.” All of the seating configurations include ample UHS charging outlets, and a Hertz stereo system with bluetooth. And if all that isn’t enough, there’s even a slide-out dish below the helm to hold your family pooch’s food and water.
